The Emergency Unit of New Territories South (EU NTS) conducted a training session at NTS Regional Headquarters on December 22 with an aim to enhancing the operational efficiency of over 20 frontline commanders in handling major incidents.

Under the planning of Senior Superintendent (Operations) NTS Ian Clark and Acting Superintendent of EU NTS Wong Cham-sum, the training covered a briefing by Mr Wong on the Major Incident Manual, the necessary equipment and ways to maintain an effective command in the frontline; and a tabletop exercise simulating the handling of natural disasters and accidents within the region.

The training consolidated the participants' knowledge in situation assessment, effective communication and manpower deployment, thereby strengthening their professional competence.
