Chief Inspector Cheung Ting-fung led two Inspectors, two Sergeants and 11 Police Constables from various District Investigation Teams (DITs) to visit the Singapore Police Force (SPF) from December 13 to 16 so as to boost their criminal investigation skills and enhance their overseas exposure.
The delegation started their programme with a study tour to the Research, Planning and Organisational Development Division at the Police Cantonment Complex to get an idea about the structure of the SPF and the crime trend in Singapore. Afterwards, they called on several crime units, including the Unlawful Money Lending Investigation Branch, Secret Society Investigation Branch and Specialised Crime Investigation Branch, to learn about their crime-fighting strategies. During visit to one of the Land Divisions, the delegates exchanged views with SPF frontline officers on their difficulties and work challenges.
The study trip shed light on a different mode of policing, which had broadened the DIT delegates' international horizons and benefited their professional development.
