Regional Commander of Kowloon East (KE) Duncan McCosh commended two foreign domestic helpers for assisting to prevent two telephone deception cases, with Indonesian Consul-General in Hong Kong Mr Tri Tharyat as well as District Commanders of Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong and Sau Mau Ping districts as guests at the Award Presentation Ceremony of "Engaging Non-Ethnic Chinese To Prevent Telephone Deception" on January 11.

Over 60 foreign domestic helpers and three Indonesian newspaper reporters in Hong Kong attended the ceremony. To enhance these domestic helpers' awareness in crime prevention, Acting Regional Crime Prevention Officer Wong Poon-yam gave a talk on telephone deception, technology crime and burglary.

Meanwhile, the Administration Wing of KE Regional Headquarters conducted a seminar on January 19 to strengthen officers' capability on handling liquor licence applications. Over 50 officers from crime and uniformed branches as well as officers from Marine Region attended the event.
