Hong Kong Island (HKI) Region hosted a spring gathering on February 10 to strengthen ties with various sectors of the community, with HKI Regional Commander Yu Tat-chung extending a warm welcome to the Chairpersons of District Councils, District Fight Crime Committees, Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents Councils, Senior Police Call Honorary Presidents Councils, Teens and Elderly Mission Committee; Honorary Commissioner of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol as well as District Officers, officials from other government departments and representatives of various community groups in the region.

Mr Yu reiterated that the overall crime figure in Hong Kong last year was the lowest since 1978, and reviewed the results of road safety operations in the region in 2016. He reaffirmed that the Force had the ability, confidence and determination to uphold the rule of law, and safeguard life and property.
