Chief Superintendent of the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) Wong Ying-wai attended the Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime Asia Summit 2017 in Singapore from February 21 to 23 together with representatives of overseas law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and the Asia-Pacific banking sector.
Mr Wong gave a presentation on CCB's initiatives of setting up the Fraud and Money Laundering Intelligence Taskforce (FMLIT), and embracing public-private partnership (PPP) in tackling financial crime. Mr Wong also took part in a panel discussion on PPP, at which the representatives of overseas LEAs agreed with his view that PPP would be one of the major directions in combatting the ever-evolving financial and commercial crimes.
Amid his stay in Singapore, Mr Wong met Director of Commercial Affairs Department of the country Mr David Chew to share the experience of the FMLIT and explore the trend of frauds. He also visited Assistant Director of the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation Mr Thomas Herko to discuss the role of PPP in international policing.
