The Police College hosted a lunch on March 8 to express gratitude to guest speakers who have assisted in training junior police officers to handle mentally incapacitated persons (MIPs) and to mediate disputes.
The College was glad to have the presence of the Chairman of the Hong Kong Autism Awareness Alliance, Dr Fan Tak-wing; the Assistant Executive Director of Fu Hong Society, Ms Tsui Kwan-yin, and co-workers of Fu Hong Society, who assisted in the MIP training programme; as well as the Chairperson of the Hong Kong Mediation and Arbitration Centre, Mr So Man-kit, who gave a helping hand on mediation training.
The MIP training programme helped to boost officers' knowledge in handling cases concerning MIPs whilst the mediation-training speakers helped to enhance frontline officers' ability in managing conflicts.
