Shatin District (STDIST) staged the Fight Crime Three-on-three Basketball Competition on April 2 to engage teenagers in supporting the Force to fight crime. With a theme of "Harmony ▪ Dedication ▪ Fight Crime", over 330 local teachers and students were grouped into 42 teams to compete for the Men's and Women's champions.
Every participating school sent their elite teams, one of which was set up by non-ethnic Chinese ladies. A Community Fight Crime Elite Squad, comprising Chairman of Shatin District Fight Crime Committee Mr Wong Ka-wing, Chairman of Shatin District Junior Police Call (STDIST JPC) Honorary Presidents Council Mr Kevin Cho and STDIST JPC Honorary President Mr Jason Man, was formed to hold a friendly match with the Men's champion team.
Acting STDIST Commander Angus Pullinger praised the players in the closing ceremony for their performance in the games, and encouraged all students to keep up with their efforts in working with the Force to fight crime.
