Over 300 Junior Police Call Central Advisory Board (JPC CAB) members, JPC Honorary Presidents, JPC members, senior police officers and Police Community Relations Office staff attended the JPC 43rd Anniversary Award and Presentation Ceremony at the Police Headquarters on April 8.
After Chairperson of the JPC CAB Ms Lam Hiu-tong kicked off the ceremony, Superintendent (Community Relations) of the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) Ng Chui-ting gave an account of the JPC activities in 2016, and Chief Superintendent of the PPRB Fok Lok-sang outlined the JPC development plan for 2017.
To show support to the JPC, Acting Secretary for Security cum JPC Honorary Chief President Mr Lee Ka-chiu and Commissioner Lo Wai-chung, who is the JPC Honorary Deputy Chief President, joined the luncheon. They presented certificates of appreciation to JPC Honorary Presidents and JPC volunteers for their contribution to the JPC Scheme.
This year, the Force is honoured to get the backing of a world-class racing cyclist, Miss Lee Wai-sze, and a renowned inventor, Mr Chan Yik-hei, who is widely known as the "Son of the star", as the new JPC Ambassadors. They will help promote JPC activities as well as encourage young people to pursue their aspirations and cultivate positive values.
In addition, certificates of appreciation were presented to representatives of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Civic Education Resource Centre and the City University of Hong Kong for their assistance in arranging environmental protection activities, civic education courses, a microfilm premiere "Haunted Call" and anti-telephone deception seminars for JPC members respectively.。
