The inauguration ceremony of Project "WeGUARD" was held at the Police Headquarters on May 25, with over 150 representatives from the hotel sector and Force representatives from Hong Kong Island (HKI) Region and Districts attending the event.

The project was launched by HKI Regional Headquarters with an aim to developing a rapport with different sectors of the community and strengthening intelligence gathering. They enlisted the support of the Hong Kong Hotels Association as the first community group to join the project.

HKI Regional Commander Yu Tat-chung and Chairman of the Hong Kong Hotels Association Mr Shaun Campbell officiated at the ceremony and presented Partnership Commitment to the representatives of 50 participating hotels.
