The 2016/17 Awards Presentation Ceremony for Service Excellence and Service Quality Award Scheme took place on May 19, during which about 250 officers from different formations received awards of the Service Quality Award (SQA) Scheme 2016, the Police Staff Suggestions Scheme (PSSS), the Police Staff Motivation Scheme and the Living-the-Values Wave IX Competitions.
Service Quality Award Scheme
A record-breaking of 56 entries was submitted to the SQA Scheme 2016. Five teams were selected to compete in the final round of the contest.
Officiating at the ceremony, Commissioner Lo Wai-chung thanked the award winners for their efforts and contribution, and praised their creativity, innovation and participation which continued to enhance the quality of police service. He said, "The ultimate goal of organising the competitions is to enhance our professionalism and service quality. In order to further improve our performance and effectiveness, every member of the Force has to contribute."

Police Staff Suggestions Scheme
Two Gold Awards, four Silver Awards, four Bronze Awards and five Merit Awards were presented to a number of officers who put forward a total of 15 suggestions under PSSS. The number of awards was a record high in recent years.
