The MacDonald Cup Inter-Major Formation Basketball Tournament took place at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on June 7, with Marine Region retaining the championship by defeating New Territories South Region. New Territories North Region won the second runner-up title. Police Constable Hon Yuk-kin of Marine Region was selected as the most valuable player by chief coaches of the four teams in the finals.

Meanwhile, in the Leslie-Luscombe Cup Inter-Formation Basketball Tournament held earlier, Marine Outer Waters District reigned supreme for the ninth year in a row. The first and the second runners-up were Wong Tai Sin District and Tsuen Wan District respectively.

In the prize presentation ceremony held right after the final contest of the MacDonald Cup, Director of Operations Tang Ping-keung presented trophies to the winning teams and encouraged the players to continue with their efforts and scale new heights.
