Superintendent (Administration) of Traffic Branch Headquarters Tsang Moon-lun and Acting Systems Manager (Operations Systems) of the Information Technology Branch Wong Lai-kuen visited the Traffic Police Headquarters of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Land Transport Authority from July 3 to 5 to learn about their traffic enforcement strategies and experience in applying closed circuit television (CCTV) systems to tackle illegal parking.

The two delegates also visited some traffic black spots installed with CCTV cameras as well as the data office to study how the systems operate in practice from capturing data on field to data transmission for backend processing.

The Hong Kong Police Force has been working closely with the relevant departments in Hong Kong and made reference to overseas experience to explore the use of new technologies in enhancing the effectiveness of traffic enforcement against illegal parking and traffic congestion. The two delegates' visit to Singapore gave them a fruitful insight in reviewing ways to enhance traffic enforcement.
