Divisional Commander of Tai Po Division (TPDIV) Ma Sing-yuen presented certificates of merit to branch staff of a bank on May 31 in appreciation of their vigilance in preventing a telephone deception.

Mr Ma praised the bank staff for their careful observation in noticing a victim's uneasiness during a loan enquiry and their efforts in persuading the victim to seek assistance from the Force, thereby thwarting a phone scam.

A manager of the bank, Ms Leung, responded that their personnel would continue fulfilling their duty and promptly report any suspicious case to the Police.
