With a view to strengthening collaboration between the Force and non-governmental organisations in handling domestic violence cases, officers of the Family Conflict and Sexual Violence Policy Unit (FCSV) of the Crime Wing and the Police Community Relations Office (PCRO) of Shum Shui Po District visited the Hong Kong Federation of Women's Centres (HKFWC) on two occasions in May and June to address their concern on domestic violence.

Both parties exchanged views on the professional sensitivity of frontline officers in handling domestic violence cases. Director of the HKFWC Ms Liu Pui-shan welcomed officers' proactive responses, which enhanced their understanding of the Force policy and procedures in handling such cases. She looked forward to building a long-term partnership with the police.

Meanwhile, FCSV ran a workshop on domestic violence in Yuen Long on July 6 for social workers serving the Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) community in a bid to raise their awareness. In addition to covering the relevant legislation and police protocols of handling domestic violence, the workshop also introduced to the participants the case referral mechanism and the Force's support services for victims.
