Over 50 senior administrators of property management and security companies in Kowloon East (KE) Region attended a seminar on the Project Rubyarrow at Tseung Kwan O Police Station on August 24 with a view to enhancing the professionalism of security personnel of public housing estates and to preventing crime.

Launched by the Regional Crime Prevention Office (RCPO) in April 2016, the project aimed to urge security officers to assist the Force in preventing burglaries and criminal cases. This year, a new element has been added to the project. Security practitioners are encouraged to feed useful information that they come across in their daily work to the Force. Such information, after officers' analysis and investigation, may become intelligence in detecting crime.

Speaking at the seminar, Superintendent (Administration and Support) of Crime KE Regional Headquarters Chiu Ching-chiu shared his experience in security work while Acting Chief Inspector of RCPO KE Wong Poon-yam explained the aims of the project and cited examples on how security guards could submit useful information to the Force. The participants were receptive to the idea and shared their views with the officers.
