A record 80 players took part in the Inter-Disciplined Services Beach Volleyball Competition at Kwai Chung Sports Ground on September 14. This is an annual highlight held by the Hong Kong Police Volleyball Club (HKPVC) to enrich the bonding with their disciplined counterparts and to foster a healthy lifestyle.


Following a series of seesaw matches, a Police team formed by Inspector (IP) Wong Chun-on and Police Constable (PC) Wong Pui-kan captured the champion of the men's group while the Immigration Department (ImmD) and Correctional Services Department secured the second and third places respectively. For the women's group, the champion went to ImmD, followed by two Police teams comprising of two PCs, Lai Wing-sze and Chan Sze-man, and two IPs, Chan Hang-ming and Hung Wing-man, respectively. The overall team champion went to ImmD while the Police Force and Fire Services Department were placed first and second runners-up. The Customs and Excise Department also took part in the competition.


Chairperson of the HKPVC Ms Kwan Chui-ching, together with President of the Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China, Mr Wilfred Ng, officiated at the prize presentation ceremony. The Police Volleyball Team practises on Thursdays from 7pm to 10pm at the Police Sports and Recreation Club.
