Police College spearheads KM activities
As part of the Force's Knowledge Management (KM) strategy, the Police College rolled out a series of activities to enable officers to learn from their overseas counterparts and local service sectors.
Social Work Officer (Training) of the Social Welfare Department Ms Au Yeung Wing-yee was invited to share with police officers, in the Beyond Boundaries Learning Series on September 13, her expert knowledge on the early identification of at-risk families.
Drawn on professional knowledge gained from a training programme at the University of Oxford, Superintendents Lam Cheuk-ho and Shum Hoi-kwong spoke on the topic of "New Thinking, Policy Challenge and Global Insights of International Governments" in a session of the Blue Moon Sharing Series on October 4.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director 2 of the Police College cum Chief Knowledge Champion Tsang Yim-sheung led a delegation to attend the Knowledge Management Singapore 2017 Conference to exchange experience with international KM experts in October. The delegates not only conducted the fourth KM dialogue with the Singapore Police Force, but also visited the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation and some government departments to learn about their good practices on KM, police training and big data application.
On the other hand, the Head of Research Centre of the School of Specialised Learning, Chow Ngai-kong, acceded to an invitation to give a talk in the G-LINK (Global Leaders who Innovate Next Knowledge) Summit at Bangkok University from October 4 to 6, sharing the Force's KM journey and critical success factors with KM practitioners from different countries.
Through learning from peers and active participation in international KM events, not only could the Force learn valuable knowledge from its partners and other sectors, but also gained substantial exposure to promote its positive image worldwide.
