Commander of Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) Wong Kwong-hing, Assistant Commander (Crime) of SMPDIST Daniel Dungey, Divisional Commander of Ngau Tau Kok Division (NTKDIV) Chan Lai-man as well as officers of District Intelligence Section (DIS) of SMPDIST and Task Force Sub-Unit (TFSU) of NTKDIV received pennants from The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) and a member of the public, Mr Chan, on October 31 for their professionalism and efficiency in detecting a theft case.

On September 21, Mr Chan found that his cash amounting to 200,000 in Japanese yen (equivalent to about HK$14,000) was stolen at a betting branch of HKJC in NTKDIV. With the concerted efforts by DIS and TFSU as well as HKJC's support, the officers conducted intelligence gathering and case analysis. Consequently, the suspect was arrested the following day with the stolen property fully recovered.
