Director of Operations Tang Ping-keung has appointed Chief Superintendent Lee Nga-lai as the new Officer-in-charge of the Force Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Cadre following the retirement of the previous commanding officer, Mr Matthew Lindsay.

With the support of the Force OSH Cadre, the Operations Support and Occupational Safety & Health Division of Support Branch reached milestones in the field of OSH education and training. Such achievements covered the provision of a robust OSH training continuum, enhancement in OSH education and promotion of occupational safety culture. Indeed, the number of OSH incidents has dropped from 1 315 cases in 2005 to 871 cases in 2016, a substantial reduction of 34 per cent.

The new Officer-in-charge, Ms Lee, said that she would make every effort to assist the Force in maintaining the high professional standards of the cadre so that the Force remains committed to work safety and complies with the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance.
