With the co-ordination of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (LOCPG), Assistant Commissioner Chung Sze-pong, Chief Superintendents Lui Kam-ho and Chan Wing-on and Superintendent Ng Chui-ting attended the National Studies Course for Hong Kong Disciplined Forces (Senior Management) at the Chinese Academy of Governance in Beijing from November 5 to 25, together with 15 officers from five other disciplined forces and the Independent Commission Against Corruption.
The course invited experts and scholars to deliver lectures and case studies on various topics, including governance philosophy, national defence, diplomatic relations, legal system and economics, to enable the participants to better understand the developments of the Mainland.
The LOCPG invited ex-Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Dr Sham Chung-ping and ex-Commissioner Li Ming-kwai to share their invaluable experience on specified topics. Furthermore, the participants called on the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, and went to Xian to visit Shaanxi Provincial Public Security Bureau and historic sites.
The participants highly praised the course as it had not only boosted their understanding of Mainland affairs and sharpened their management skills, but also strengthened rapport with their counterparts on the Mainland and other disciplined forces.
