Secretary for the Civil Service (SCS) Mr Law Chi-kong visited the School of Foundation Training of the Police College on December 8 to know more about the professional training of the Force and the learning experience of Administrative Officers (AOs) in the Leadership Enhancement Programme held at the College.
Mr Law first met with Director of the Police College Lau Chi-wai to better understand the operation and training facilities of the College. He then watched a demonstration of the Force's handling of emergency incidents and a foot drill practice by police trainees. He also toured the College's facilities including the Tactical Training Complex and recruit police constables barracks.
Afterwards, Mr Law met with a group of AOs who were participating in the Leadership Enhancement Programme at the College. He listened to their sharing of learning experience and observed their participation in a team-building exercise.
Since 2006, the Civil Service Bureau has been arranging for AOs with a few years of service to join the annual Leadership Enhancement Programme organised by the College. The two-day residential training programme aims to strengthen their mindset, self-confidence, team spirit and leadership through team-building and physical training activities. Nearly 200 AOs have so far participated in the programme.
