The first-ever Force Family Sports Day came to a successful conclusion at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on December 10, 2017, with a record number of 5 500 visits by regular and auxiliary officers, civilians and their families. A range of innovative activities such as a baby crawling competition, pony ride, family sketch drawing and little cop photo shoot were held.
Thanks to the efforts of the Force's sports and arts clubs, Regional/Major Formations (MFs) and volunteer groups, the event had incorporated family-bonding elements through parent-child competitions, sports play-in activities, fun arts, family yoga and other activities, bringing immense joy and memorable experience to all participants.
Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chiu Wai-yin attended the Sports Day to support the participants and convey appreciation to the volunteer groups of the Neighbourhood Volunteer Scheme, Hong Kong Institute of Technology, Junior Police Officers' Association and Marine Police Octans, as well as the Hong Kong Old Comrade Association of Police Volunteers Service.
