Commander of Sha Tin District (STDIST) Kwan Chui-ching, together with District Officer (Sha Tin) Miss Chan Yuen-man and Chairman of Shatin District Fight Crime Committee Mr Wong Ka-wing, presented outstanding awards to 11 community partners and nine citizens on November 24 in recognition of their support in fighting crime. Many stakeholders, including Vice-chairman of Sha Tin District Council Mr Pang Cheung-wai and five other District Councillors, attended the presentation ceremony.

With the support of the community partners, STDIST launched several crime prevention initiatives such as anti-telephone deception publicity activities and major incident exercises in the past six months. Meanwhile, four security guards dutifully prevented unauthorised entry into buildings while two money exchange shop staff members diligently guarded against deception. Three elders were alerted of the modus operandi of culprits and did not fall into their traps. STDIST will continue to work with the stakeholders to keep law and order in the community.
