The Family Conflict and Sexual Violence Policy Unit (FCSV) led a group of mentally incapacitated persons (MIPs) from The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong and The Salvation Army as well as their family members to visit the Police Dog Unit (PDU) Headquarters on December 6, 2017. Acting Chief Superintendent (Crime Support) Ho Chun-tung welcomed the 40 participants and presented a certificate to PDU officers as a token of thanks for their efforts in arranging the event.

After the PDU officers explained their work and the role of police dogs, the participants were invited to try on PDU officers' protective clothing to get a sense of the gear for training police dogs. The PDU and FCSV officers facilitated the participants to take photographs with the police dogs. A guided tour was arranged by the PDU to the kennel.

Both the MIPs and their families were delighted with this pleasant experience to learn more about police work. The FCSV will continue to organise activities and talks to foster communication between the MIPs and the Force, in particular about policing procedures.
