The Rotary Club presented the Vocational Excellence Awards to 20 police officers at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel on January 24 in recognition of their devotion to duty in four cases as well as their commitment to society. Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chiu Wai-yin and other senior commanding officers of the awardees attended the presentation ceremony to show support and share the joyful moment with the awardees.

Eleven submissions were received this year. The criteria for the awards focused on officers' bravery and outstanding performance in the course of performing constabulary duties or investigation. The award presentation had not only encouraged the awardees but also let them realise that their dedication and hard work were very much admired.

Since 2001, the Rotary Club of Kowloon Golden Mile has been presenting the Vocational Excellence Awards annually to deserving recipients from the Police Force, medical authority and the Fire Services Department of Hong Kong.
