The Junior Police Call and Youth Liaison Section of the Police Public Relations Branch invited a former Junior Police Call (JPC) member, Ms Chung Hiu-tung, and a retired Liaison Officer of Eastern District, Yip Bing-tung, to share their acquaintance at the Liaison Officers and School Liaison Officers Training Day on January 24.

Ms Chung recalled the horror during childhood as her mother was frequently abused by her father. This scared her away from home after school. Once she was surrounded by a gang in a park and Mr Yip, in plain clothes, told her to stay away from the gang and brought her to a JPC Clubhouse nearby. Ms Chung enjoyed taking part in various JPC activities and voluntary services. She said that she would not be able to share with the audience if she had not met Mr Yip that day.

On the other hand, Mr Yip shared about the unforgettable moments of his work and recalled the days when he invited Ms Chung and other youngsters to become JPC members. Both of them encouraged the audience to keep up with their efforts in cultivating the youth.
