Best KM practices in leading organisations

To broaden officers' international perspective on knowledge management (KM), the Police College invited the Academic Director of the Master Programme in KM and Leadership at the Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland, Professor Aino Kianto, to share with officers the "Best Practices for Managing Knowledge in Organisations" under the Management Development Programme on February 23.

With reference to her research studies of over 800 European companies, Professor Kianto explained how KM could contribute to sustainable value creation and enhance organisational performance. She also introduced the KM tools and practices adopted by these companies.

The seminar was successfully held with the assistance of an Honorary College Advisor on KM, Professor Eric Tsui, who acted as a bridge between the Force and Professor Kianto for the sharing invitation. The seminar showed the importance of maintaining a strong international KM network for enhancing the capabilities of the Force.
