Young people are invited to join the "Hang Seng Bank - Help the Police Fight Youth Crime Competition 2018" to spread the messages of anti-drugs, anti-cyber crime, anti-quick cash crime and anti-telephone deception. The competition is open for entries from March 22 to April 22, with the theme of "Fight Crime Together for Tomorrow".

The biennial competition is one of the major crime prevention programmes that has been organised by the Force since 1975 and has been sponsored by the Hang Seng Bank from 1994. It aims to steer youngsters clear of youth crime and forge a police-community partnership in fighting crime.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Commissioner Lo Wai-chung said that the Force is committed to maintaining law and order and placing emphasis on youth development. He hoped that young people would make good use of their creativity in the competition to help the Police spread fight crime messages.

Also officiating at the ceremony, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank Ms Cheang Wai-wan said that the bank is endeavoured to promote the development of young people and nurture their positive attitude towards life. The bank has been working closely with the Force to encourage young people to spread fight crime messages and raise crime prevention awareness of the general public.

The competition consists of four categories: Primary Group (Primary 4 to 6 students), Secondary Group (Form 1 to 6 students), Tertiary Group (full-time post-secondary students) and Open Group (people aged below 25). It includes a web game, file folder design and "One-minute KOL" video script writing. The short-listed participants in video script writing will film their work for further assessment. The winners will be awarded scholarship or book coupons, and will be appointed as fight crime ambassadors to visit overseas police officers and youth groups to exchange fight crime experience.

Entry forms are available at the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB), Police Community Relations Offices and Junior Police Call (JPC) clubhouses, or can be downloaded from the JPC website. For details, please visit the competition website at www.hsbfightcrime2018.org.hk and JPC Facebook page, or contact PPRB on 2860-6155.
