Director of Operations Tang Ping-keung and Regional Commander of Marine Patrick Hodson hosted the Annual Liaison Gathering of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Maritime Law Enforcement Agency 2018 in the Police Sports and Recreation Club on March 14.

Attending the event were about 100 delegates from the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Frontier Corps, the Guangdong Coastguard Corps, the Office for Combating Smuggling from the Guangdong Provincial Government, the Guangdong Marine and Fisheries Inspection Bureau, the Customs Service of Macao, as well as local officers from the Marine Department, the Customs and Excise Department, the Immigration Department, the Government Flying Service, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and the Fire Services Department.

Delivering a welcoming speech, Mr Tang thanked Guangdong and Macao and other local departments for their co-operation in tackling illegal immigration, smuggling, maritime crime, illegal fishing activities and in performing search and rescue operations. He hoped that the maritime law enforcement agencies would continue to strengthen liaison and he looked forward to another fruitful year.

The delegates not only exchanged their experience in maritime law enforcement, but also reinforced mutual trust for co-operation.
