A 13-member delegation of the Operations Wing visited the Singapore Police Force (SPF) between March 12 and 15 to learn more about their policing experience. Led by Chief Inspectors Yeung Ming-hang and Yau Hoi-yan, the delegation included a Senior Inspector, six Sergeants and four Police Constables.
The delegates called on SPF's Special Operations Command and met officers of the Police Tactical Unit and the Rapid Deployment Troops (RDTs). The SPF established the RDTs in 2016 to strengthen its capabilities of combating terrorism and handling public disorder. The local officers explained to the delegates their daily work, equipment and training programmes. Then the delegates visited the Police Operations Command Centre to learn about its daily work and its control and command procedures for handling emergency incidents.
The visit enabled the delegates to deepen their understanding of the SPF and strengthened their capability in tackling terrorism and major incidents.
