The Force raised $1,048,128 in the One-Arm Push Up Challenge for abandoned and disabled animals. Commissioner Lo Wai-chung handed over the cheque to the Founder of the Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA), Ms El Chan, on May 8.

Speaking at the cheque presentation ceremony, Mr Lo thanked members of Junior Police Call and Senior Police Call Central Advisory Boards, Honorary President Councils, Police Districts and members of the public for their support and donation. He also presented an appreciation letter to Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Education of Hong Kong Baptist University Dr Lobo Louie, who was the Ambassador for the publicity campaign of the event.

The One-Arm Push-up Challenge was co-organised by the Force and SAA between January 28 and April 7. The Force mounted a 10-week online and street campaign to encourage members of the public to do one-arm push ups to experience the hardship of disabled animals and raise funds for animals in need.

The top three fund-raising Districts, listed in the order of the fund raised, were Wanchai District, Sau Mau Ping District and Tai Po District. The campaign has raised public awareness of caring for animals and promoted the positive image of the Force.
