"Police Magazine", the Force's weekly fight crime television programme, secured the 10th place in an award presentation ceremony of the 2017 TV Programmes Appreciation Index Survey on May 16, moving up from the 12th place in the previous year.
The survey, conducted regularly by the Public Opinion Programme of The University of Hong Kong since 1998, was commissioned by major local television companies to raise the standard of the television industry. The latest survey was carried out in four phases between April 2017 and January 2018. A total of 8 152 Cantonese-speaking Hong Kong citizens aged nine or above were successfully interviewed over phone about 223 programmes.
"Police Magazine" is jointly produced by the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) and Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK). The programme has been disseminating fight crime messages to the public from 1973. It is broadcast on RTHK Channel 31 and 31A at 8 pm on Wednesdays and is available on the Hong Kong Police Force YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/user/HKPChannel.
