Tuen Mun District (TMDIST) conducted an inter-departmental exercise at Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal on April 18 to test the communication, use of equipment and collaboration between some police units and stakeholders in emergency incidents.
The exercise simulated the scenario of a violent passenger, who carried suspected inflammable liquid on a ferry returning to Hong Kong from Macao, causing injuries to some crew members and passengers. The exercise was held in a realistic setting, involving uniformed officers of Castle Peak Division, Marine West Division, Emergency Unit of New Territories North, as well as officers from the Marine Department, the Immigration Department, the Customs and Excise Department, the Fire Services Department and security staff of a ferry company.
The professionalism and dedication displayed by all the participants made the exercise a success. A subsequent wash-up meeting was held on May 3 to consolidate feedback and recommendations of the participants.
