Chairman of the Sunshine Student Project Committee of Central District (CDIST) Mr Ngai Hoi-ying and officers of CDIST Police Community Relations Office accompanied 30 Junior Police Call (JPC) members to visit Shenzhen and Guangzhou from April 2 to 4 in a bid to explore the opportunities arising from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area development. Also joining the visit were Vice-Chairman Mr Chow Chiu-sheung and some other members of the committee.


The delegates focused on the topics of business startup, career pursuit and education. They went to the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub to meet two Hong Kong young entrepreneurs, who succeeded in starting up their businesses and raising a capital of tens of millions of Renminbi via the Hub. The delegates also visited several leading innovation and technology enterprises and institutions to get an understanding of the career paths offered. During a tour to a pharmacy of the University of Hong Kong - Shenzhen Hospital, they observed the running of a robotic drug dispensing system and talked with a Hong Kong doctor about medical career on the Mainland. Furthermore, the delegates went to Sun Yat-sen University and exchanged views with a student from Hong Kong.


The delegation also visited Guangzhou Government Affairs Centre to gain knowledge of e-government on the Mainland. Apart from attending the 2018 Asia VR&AR Fair and taking a ride on high-speed rail, they also learned about the development of cashier-free convenience stores and mobile payment services in the Bay Area. While touring a micro-film studio of Hong Kong director Mr Lee Lik-chi in Guangzhou, the JPC members took the occasion to co-produce a video with Mr Lee to promote the Force's One-Arm Push Up Challenge.
