Marine Region rolled out a crime prevention campaign for local fishermen who moored their vessels in typhoon shelters in the light of the fishing moratorium from May to mid-August.

To raise the fishermen's alertness against theft from vessel as well as deception, officers of Crime Marine, Regional Crime Prevention Office and Police Community Relations Office of Marine Port District distributed anti-crime leaflets and souvenirs to the fishing community of Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter on May 29. They encouraged the fishermen to install solar-powered closed-circuit televisions on board to enhance security of their vessels.
