Three officers of the Planning and Development Branch visited the New Zealand Police (NZP) between June 4 and 9 to study the optimal use of police accommodation and the implementation of property enhancement projects.

Headed by Chief Superintendent Ho Wai-hong, the Force delegation met NZP Commissioner Mr Mike Bush at the Police National Headquarters in Wellington. They discussed the optimal use of police accommodation in tandem with policing plan, development strategies and the implementation approach. In addition, Resource Management Consultants of NZP shared their views on how to make the best use of police properties to meet future policing challenges.

The delegation also visited the Hamilton Police Station to learn about the security design of front desks in report rooms that would be implemented nationwide to enhance work safety of officers. During another visit to the Auckland Police Custody Unit which was open last September, the delegates gained a better understanding of the new detention facilities of NZP.
