The Regional Crime Prevention Office of Hong Kong Island (RCPO HKI) held a workshop and a tea gathering at the Caine House on June 27 for over 100 managerial executives of hotels and HKI officers to sustain their partnership under Project "WeGUARD". The participants came from 53 hotels, four of which joined the project this year.
Organised in collaboration with the Hong Kong Hotels Association (HKHA), the project was launched in May last year to disseminate crime alerts to and receive crime information from the hotel sector. It has been run for over a year with promising results.
Officiating at the tea gathering, HKI Regional Commander Yu Tat-chung praised HKHA for its solid support for the project and looked forward to its continued backing. In response, Executive Director of HKHA Mr Patrick Kwok presented a tapestry flag and appreciation certificates to HKI officers in recognition of their professionalism. Receiving the commendation were Senior Superintendent (Crime HKI) Lam Shu-wing, and officers from RCPO, District Intelligence Sections and Task-Force Sub-Units.
