The Police Mentorship Programme Alumni (PMPA) hosted a curry lunch gathering at Senior Officers' Mess on July 21. Thirty eight participants including 16 non-Force members attended the event. This marked the beginning of a series of programmes to be launched by the PMPA this year.
Speaking at the gathering, PMPA Chairman Chow Shu-fan said he was delighted to witness the strong bonding established among the alumni over the years. He encouraged the alumni, especially the non-Force members working in various fields, to continue to support PMPA's events.
Former Senior Superintendent Dr Hilton Chan was invited to give a sharing on innovation at the event. Dr Chan is currently a professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as well as the Chief Executive Officer of several private companies. He shared his work experience in the government and the private sector, and how innovation was applied in the development of information technology business strategy and infrastructure.
The PMPA was founded in 2014 to sustain the bonding between the alumni of the Police Mentorship Programme and the Force. Over the years, the PMPA Executive Committee organised various activities including regular gatherings, volunteer work, visits, thematic sharings and a personal development workshop called Companion Prgoramme. The active participation of PMPA members helped build up a cohesive network among the alumni.
