Sha Tin District Fight Crime Committee Chairman Mr Li Sai-wing, Sha Tin District Councillors, representatives of a retail company and some victims presented tapestry flags and thank-you letters to officers of Shatin District (STDIST) on July 4. They praised the officers for their devotion and professionalism in detecting a number of crime cases including "wounding", "arson", "robbery, "theft" and "outraging public decency" in April and May.

Receiving the commendation were STDIST Commander Mak Lau Wai-mun, Commander of Shatin Division (STDIV) Wong Tsz-bun and Assistant Divisional Commander (Operations) Hung Yat-na, STDIST Police Community Relations Officer Sean Lin as well as officers of Task Force Sub-Unit, Patrol Sub-Unit of STDIV, District Investigation Team 9 and Police Community Relations Office.
