He shared with the attendees the Force's Counter-Terrorism (CT) Strategy and how it is applied in APTDIST. The presentation also covered the functions of ASU and its role as the first tactical responder at the HKIA.

Over 30 senior leaders of police, immigration, CT departments and other aviation stakeholders from 10 Southeast Asian countries attended the conference. The event aimed to share the best practices in the field of aviation security and challenges as well as global terrorism assessment.

Mr Lau said that the conference has provided a good communication platform for Southeast Asian countries to strengthen their network and exchange views on aviation security. The attendees also conducted in-depth discussion about aviation threats and related solutions. The insights gained from the conference are beneficial to the Hong Kong Police to maintain the HKIA as one of the safest airports in the world.
