A delegation of 40 Junior Police Call (JPC) members, led by Chairperson of JPC Central Advisory Board (CAB) cum Assistant Commissioner (Support) Lam Hiu-tong and Chairperson of JPC Central Finance Committee Ms Ng Yin-mui, visited the Mainland for cultural exchange in late July.

After appreciating the majestic landscape of Lijiang River in Guilin, the JPC delegates conducted cultural exchange with ethnic minorities at Huangluo Yao Village and learned about farming practices at Longji Rice Terraces. Then the delegates were given an opportunity to take a look at the world's largest spherical radio telescope, Five-hundred-metre Aperture Spherical radio Telescope, in Guizhou. This was followed by a visit to the East Science Valley to better understand the development of astronomy and technology in Guiyang.

Apart from visiting local attractions, the delegation visited a police detachment of the Public Security Bureau of Guiyang City to learn about their anti-drug work. They also called on the Fire Brigade in Guanshanhu to communicate with local firemen and hear about their training activities.

On the morning on July 28, the delegation attended the "Meet under the flag" activity on the People's Square of Guiyang City. They joined with representatives of other youth uniformed groups from Hong Kong to participate in the national flag-raising ceremony. Throughout the trip, the JPC delegates got a better understanding of the Mainland's culture and traditions.
