ACP Support shares policing expertise

Assistant Commissioner (Support) (ACP Support) Lam Hiu-tong was invited to speak at a sharing session of the "Meet a Commissioner Rank Officer" Learning Series on August 24, with Deputy Director (2) of the Police College cum Chief Knowledge Champion Dr Chiu Sau-mee as a facilitator.

Speaking to about 80 participants at the ranks of Police Constable to Senior Superintendent, Ms Lam shared her invaluable experience, knowledge and wisdom in some memorable posts, such as Marine Regional Commander and her current post of ACP Support.

She recalled her days as a junior inspector, when she embraced challenges and intervened early in problems to prevent the situation from deteriorating. She stressed that one of the most important negotiation skills is to put yourself in others' positions and strike a good balance between the interests of different parties. She concluded by encouraging the participants to be positive in face of challenges and find happiness in their police careers. The participants found the sharing very enlightening and enjoyable.
