The Juvenile Protection Section of Kowloon West (KW) Region, in collaboration with the Kowloon West Youth-Care Committee, offered a wide spectrum of sports and physical courses to young people this summer.
These courses aimed at enhancing the participants' perseverance, and inspiring them to build positive values and life goals. Covering basketball, fencing, cross-country run and fitness training, the courses were meticulously designed to strengthen their health and well-being.
The KW Regional Crime Prevention Office has taken forward the concept of community integration by enrolling both local and non-ethnic Chinese youngsters and inviting several trained youngsters as junior coaches in fencing and cross-country run. The parents of the trainees were welcome to attend the courses to enhance parent-child relationship.
The courses were concluded with satisfactory outcomes. A trainee with hyperactivity disorder managed to devote full attention to guide his peers to complete training while another trainee overcame the hardship of undergoing training on a six-kilometre trail. Many parents were gratified to see their children taking care of younger ones under coaches' guidance.
