In view of the complexity of the co-location arrangement of the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL), the Operations Wing (OPS Wing) hosted two briefings on the policing of the XRL for related officers at the Police Headquarters on September 6 and 12.
Speaking at the briefings, Yau Tsim District Commander Chow Yat-ming, Senior Superintendent (SSP) of OPS Wing Headquarters Leung Shun, SSP of Crime Wing Headquarters Chung Wing-man, SSP of Human Resources Branch of Personnel Wing Tsang Fan-kwok and SSP (OPS) of New Territories North (NTN) Region Ku Chin-pang elaborated on policy, operational and personnel issues under their respective purviews.
The Force-wide briefings attracted about 1 000 Force members, including officers across the ranks from frontline operational units of Kowloon West, NTN and New Territories South Regions, as well as units and cadres under the OPS Wing that might be deployed to the XRL. Representatives of staff associations were also invited to attend the briefings.
After the presentations, the speakers answered questions from the attendees. This provided a good opportunity for clarification of possible concerns. The briefings strengthened the attendees' knowledge of and confidence in the policing matters related to the XRL, thereby enhancing the Force's operational capability.
The briefing materials and other related information have been uploaded to Police Intranet (POINT)
