Western District (WDIST) held a sharing session in Western WIKI series on September 13 to enhance officers' knowledge of the modus operandi of credit card scams. Some 40 officers from the Uniform Branch and frontline investigation units attended the sharing session.

Three guest speakers, namely Director of Global Security of American Express Bank Mr Michael Chan, Senior Manager (Financial Crime & Security Service) of DBS Bank Mr Dennis Leung and Vice-President of Credit Card Operations of Shanghai Commercial Bank Mr Antony Leung, talked about the modus operandi of credit card scams and measures taken by the banking security sector against this type of scam. The attendees exchanged views with the speakers, and found the sharing session practical. They said the session had enhanced their understanding of ways to avoid deception, as well as crime investigation.
