A seven-member delegation from the Force Escort Group (FEG) visited the Traffic Department of the Public Security Police Force in Macao on September 20 and 21 to discuss escort tactics and skills with their counterparts.

Led by Officer-in-charge of FEG Chik Ming-yam, the delegates called on the Macao Traffic Department Headquarters and were greeted by Chief Superintendent Lei Chong-man. Then they met the Macao escort team members. The Macao escort team's role and functions are similar to those of FEG. The team members are traffic police officers who conduct regular traffic enforcement duties on normal days but are required to carry out escorts in times of need.

The two parties discussed escort tactics and shared their experience in conducting escort missions and handling vehicles and equipment. Both sides shared their views on escort training. FEG delegates also observed the training of the Macao escort team. Furthermore, the Macao escort team performed a demonstration by shuttling the delegates in downtown Macao.

Meanwhile, the delegation also visited the Traffic Accident Investigation Team, Prosecution Team and Control Centre to better understand the work of these units.

The visit not only broadened the delegates' horizons and offered them an opportunity to learn about the good practices of their counterparts, but also strengthened ties between the two police forces.
