The then Mong Kok District (MKDIST) Commander, Kerry Carew, passed a torch, which symbolised "Project Torch", to his successor, Bradley Wright, at a torch relay ceremony on September 28.

Launched in May 2017, "Project Torch" aims at promoting the Force's professionalism and values to its participants and equipping them to apply for police jobs. The torch relay ceremony meant passing on these values to those with aspiration to join the Force. As at September 2018, four Inspectors and eight Police Constables who participated in the project have been recruited to the Force.
