Director of Personnel and Training Li Kin-fai led a six-member delegation to attend the second preparatory meeting for the 13th Symposium on Police Studies of the Strait cum Hong Kong and Macao from October 21 to 25 in Dalian, Liaoning Province.

The theme of the symposium is "New Situation of Security Governance and Deepening of Cross-boundary Policing Co-operation". This year, the Hong Kong Police Force submitted a total of 15 high-quality research articles. Seven of the articles would be incorporated in the journal of the symposium and the Force would present four of them in the formal symposium.

During the preparatory meeting, the Hong Kong delegates met with representatives from the Mainland, Macao and Taiwan to discuss the preparatory work for the symposium and the research articles from the participating jurisdictions. The formal symposium will be held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, from December 3 to 7.

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong delegates took the opportunity to visit the Dalian Woman Ranger Battalion, the Guilin Street Police Station in Zhongshan District and the Command Centre of Dalian Traffic Police Detachment.
