Superintendent of the Crime Wing Support Group Ng Chui-ting and Senior Inspector of the Family Conflict and Sexual Violence Policy Unit (FCSV) Law Wan-yee attended the 36th Meeting of the INTERPOL Specialists Group on Crimes Against Children in Singapore from November 26 to 29.

The meeting gathered together 216 participants from different countries, regional and international organisations, the private sector and academia to discuss the themes of internet-facilitated crimes against children, child victim identification, sex offender management, and serious and violent crimes against children.

The participants deliberated over the use of mobile devices in crimes against children, legislation regarding sex offender registry, and enhancements to the INTERPOL International Child Sexual Exploitation database. They also conducted case studies to share their experience in combating crimes against children. Furthermore, they attended workshops to discuss the challenges faced by different regions.

Since its establishment in 1992, the INTERPOL Specialists Group on Crimes Against Children has played a key role in strengthening the ability of law enforcement agencies to investigate and prevent child abuse.
