The prize presentation ceremony of "Map Pro, We Check" Competition was held at Police Headquarters on December 12. The Force Knowledge Officer cum Director of the Police College Lau Chi-wai presented the Force's Knowledge Management (KM) Awards to more than 60 winners of the competition.
The event encouraged Force members to draw mind maps to share their work knowledge with colleagues. A total of 573 participants submitted 154 entries in the categories of Formation, Group and Individual. The submissions covered mainly frontline police work and operations about the Uniform Branch, crime units as well as traffic and marine police. The judging panel selected 18 winning entries.
Following the presentation ceremony, Chief Superintendent Martin Cadman and three KM champions held a Knowledge Café session to share how mind maps could be used to collate, organise and present knowledge and skills. Mind mapping is a creative means of expressing thoughts in a textual and visual way.
The attendees said the sharing session increased their understanding of mind mapping and would benefit their work. Force KM Champion for Peer Adviser Scheme, Senior Superintendent (SSP) Chin Tsang-lo, delivered a closing speech and thanked the attendees for their participation. SSP Law Yuet-wing will soon succeed Ms Chin as the KM Champion.
